On foot
2 walks to discover the city that can be done in one:
By going down the street St Michel, you will discover the charming chapel St Michel and in 5 mn, you will be in the Port Rhu, ria transformed into “Port-Museum” gathering fishing boats and pleasure boats…
By going up the street St Michel, and by taking on the right, we pass in front of the church of the Sacred Heart, in 5 mn of the center: the place of the Markets, animated every morning (except Sunday) by the local producers.
Further down, the Rosmeur, that is to say the old port of Douarnenez.
From there, walking along the sea – 20 minutes on foot – you will discover the bay, Tristan Island (the origin of the name Douarnenez: “Douar an enez”: the country of the island), the small “city” beaches (including the Dames beach) and you will reach the Port Rhu.

2 other walks that require more time:
Les Plomarch’: a small corner of the countryside overlooking the bay that you approach from the Rosmeur and where small fishermen’s houses restored as gîtes are surrounded by vegetable gardens.
(1h30)
Tréboul: from Port Rhu, you cross by the Jean Marin footbridge and following the sea, you discover the marina, then the very beautiful Saint Jean chapel and you arrive at the Sables Blancs beach.
By car
Audierne: pretty fishing port at the mouth of the Goyen with a stop at Pont-Croix.
From the Pointe du Van to the Pointe du Raz: 25 km.
Would you rather have a home of your own?
We rent a house
